Will Adams had to cancel due to illness, sadly, but Lucas put on quite a show. We ran out of chairs and stools, which is always a positive sign. I took a bunch of photos that were bad. Thankfully, Anna Matis was on hand to take these good ones:

Resonant Interval Sound Series #2: Will Adams & Lucas Gorham

This Sunday, October 25, Resonant Interval will play host to a recent returnee from Charm City, Will Adams. Will has played in an impressive number of Houston bands over the years (Jessica Six, The Ka-Knives, Carter Brown) and is serving currently as the guitarist in Jana Hunter’s band. This weekend he will play a solo set for guitar and effects pedals.

He will be joined by Lucas Gorham, another multi-banded fellow (Satin Hooks, Sad Gorilla, Grandfather Child) who has developed an impressive improvisational vocabulary for the lap steel guitar.

Each will play a solo set and, if they are willing, a duet at the end of the evening.

The show will begin at 8 at 2808 Milam. Cover charge is $5.  Have a drink at Khon’s next door. Last week they had authentic Cajun gumbo and boiled crabs to eat!

All pictures snapped by Ann Matis of Anna Flora Photography on my cheapo point-and-shoot Kodak digital. I was impressed, myself.

A Bit About Resonant Interval

Resonant Interval is the fancy name for a simple concert series in Houston, Texas. We felt it important to provide a regular opportunity to showcase the talents of local and regional improvisors, noisemakers, and unapologetic sonic alchemists. The shows are made possible by Khon’s Bar, located at 2808 Milam. They are allowing us to use the space next door to the bar, which in a previous life served up the best coconut cream bubble tea in town but now serves as an ideal performance space for progressive music.

The first show occurs on Sunday, October 18th, at 8 pm. Cover is $5, all of which goes to the evening’s performers. The improv quartet of Ryan Edwards, Sandy Ewen, Doug Falk & Lance Higdon–known collectively as Lance & The Pants–are set to play, along with another performer or group of performers to be determined in short order. If you are interested in performing at Resonant Interval, please contact us through this website.
